In The Space, we promote yoga, meditation, and other forms of relaxation and alternative health practices, such as Reiki and massage, as a path through pain and suffering, and not around it. We promise an accepting, inclusive community culture, an affordable, safe space for people of all ages who may be experiencing trauma, stress and anxiety, chronic pain, or concerns with body image, and flexible class schedules to accommodate a variety of needs, and a diversity of lifestyles and abilities.

Classes must be cancelled no later than 2 hours before the class. You can do this via your online account, if you have trouble please email us to cancel your class (this still must be done no later than 2 hours before). Cancellations cannot be accepted by phone. Late cancellations or no shows will be charged in full.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of alternative therapy commonly referred to as energy healing. It involves the transfer of universal energy from the practitioner’s palms to their patient in order to restore physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual energy flow in the body. A treatment consists of a light, non-manipulative touch in several positions around the body.

What is Colour & Sound Therapy?
Colour and sound therapy is a non-invasive holistic treatment that brings balance and health to your mind and body through vibration and light. The therapeutic use of colour and sound induces physical and emotional change in the body on a cellular level to help improve chronic symptoms, mood, and overall health. During treatment, tuning forks are applied to acupuncture/acupressure points — accessing the body’s Meridian and Chakra energy systems in order to achieve a state of relaxation and enhance the body’s ability to heal from within.

A Reiki practitioner since 2018, Melanie has always been drawn to all types of alternative healing. Amazed at how beneficial Reiki had been for her, Melanie wanted to start sharing this healing modality with others. The energetic care and compassion that she provides beams through her clients.
Melanie is also an active volunteer within the community and believes that being in service to others is an important part of this life. Recently moved from Fort McMurray, she is excited to offer her practice with the people in her new “Fort.”

Starr achieved her Yoga Teacher Training through Higher Love Yoga Academy, and enjoys infusing Reiki energy healing, colour and sound therapy, aromatherapy, mindfulness, and breath work into her classes.
She prides herself on providing challenging, yet relaxing sessions; encouraging healing and a lasting feeling of zen among her students, whether they are just beginning their yoga journey or are well-practiced yogis.
When she is not in her class, you will find her playing in her coral reef tank, golfing, walking the family dog, and spending time with family.
