Building a successful new business can hard, and I have so many thank-you’s to all those who have helped The Space come this far.

Thank you to the community for recognizing that an inclusive Space was needed where people could pursue physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing free from fear, judgement, or other barriers.

Thank you to all the brave souls who have ever felt uncomfortable in the space of their own bodies and walked through our doors, determined to begin, or continue their personal journey toward health and healing. If any of you are here tonight, know that even though you may be our student, you teach us what true courage looks like everyday.

And for those of you who aren’t a student yet, what’s holding you back?! Remember, your first class is always free!

Thank you to my dedicated group of yoga instructors, alternative health practitioners and facilitators who shared in my vision to be more than just another yoga studio, and have worked so hard to build a truly welcoming and rewarding community. Many of you came tonight, and I share this honour with all of you…including our resident Reiki master and psychic medium, Carly Mariacci, who was also nominated for this award, but declined when she made the decision to leave her personal practice and come to our Space. I’m not sure if she knows whether or not she would have won – being a psychic and all, but I’m thankful she joined our family regardless.

Thank you to everyone I have leaned on over the past year. There are far too many to list here, but I know some are in attendance tonight, and whether you offered sage words of advice and encouragement, a shoulder to cry on, or your hands to transform an empty space into a warm and welcoming one, I’m so grateful for your support and friendship.

And finally, thank you to my husband and business partner Corey Brewis, who believed in me and my dream of a Space for anyone in need of holistic health and wellness, and who didn’t run away screaming when I came to him with nothing more than the idea and a six month timeline till our planned grand opening. Whether building our brand, catering our staff events, pretending to be our handyman, confusingly working front desk, or at home severely outnumbered by our kids while I’m in studio, he’s always stood by my side and walked hand-in-hand with me every step.

Building a new business can hard, but you have all helped make it a success. Thank you all again, from the space of my heart.
