Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapy (BCST) is a very subtle, yet profound “hands-on” bodywork treatment allowing the internal healing capabilities of your body to express themselves more freely. Through informed relational touch, the practitioner provides safety and connection, following the innate wisdom of the body itself while bearing witness to any processes in your system that may require attention and support.
Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapy has been used to address a wide range of physical, emotional, and psychological conditions, such as:

Chronic Pain

Headaches

Stress

Anxiety

Trauma
What can be expected?
During a session, the client remains fully clothed and lays comfortably on a massage table. The practitioner usually begins by touching the feet or the side of the body, and then may move to a few different hand positions, dependent upon the needs of your body. The hands-on portion of the session generally lasts 30-40 min, with some discussion at the start and end of each session.
Within the first session, people typically report noticing a difference in their nervous system, such as a sense of moving from being stressed to being able to relax. The client may have a certain goal in mind for the outcome of each session, but the body system has its own priority for moving toward optimal expression of health and vitality. This therapy is a “process” therapy with 3-6 sessions recommended 1-2 weeks apart, and while it starts during treatment, your system will continue to process for several days after each session. Very often clients comment, “I don’t really know what’s happening, but I know I feel better.”
Why are sessions currently free?
Our session practitioner, Cora, is currently a student with Body Intelligence, undergoing a 2-year program of study to become a certified BCST practitioner. As part of her studies, Cora has a requirement to do at least 150 practice sessions with volunteer client bodies. She cannot charge for sessions until she is fully certified, which happens after she has fulfilled all of the requirements of the program. Until that time, the sessions that she offers are meant to be for her learning and development in addition to the benefit of her clients.
Cora’s final training seminar will be in March 2024, and after that time the fee for each session will be determined at a later date. Advance notice will be given to clients as the date approaches. Please note that as a student, Cora cannot yet provide sessions for pregnant mothers, children under 16 years of age, or for those with recent traumatic conditions or terminal illness.
Cora’s current availability:
Thursday evenings at 6:45pm
Sunday mornings from 9:30am-12:30pm
If Cora will be away for training, these dates will be blocked out in the schedule.
Cora Rennie
Cora’s journey with CranioSacral Therapy began in 2004. She was working in a Chiropractic office and was asked by the massage therapist if she would consent to a practice session. Just by touching her feet, the massage therapist influenced Cora’s entire body to relax – an experience that left a profound impression on her.
Later that year, Cora’s mother was involved in an accident wherein she experienced physical trauma to her arm and head. After the initial medical recovery, her mother continued to suffer from severe vertigo and migraines, and Cora knew that CranioSacral treatments would help. After the first treatment, her mother experienced a dramatic decrease in pain, and continued to improve with each treatment.
Inspired by the results, Cora soon started CranioSacral training, but chose to not pursue her practice until a year ago, when, as her youngest approached high school graduation, Cora knew she was soon to face a drastic transition to empty-nester. Questioning what to do next, Cora began searching for refresher courses. Her journey through the training thus far has changed her entire mindset about how we view life, health, and our bodies. It has allowed her to connect deeply to the wonder and mystery of how we come to be, how we grow and develop, and how our body can do what needs to be done to maintain life. She truly believes that every adaptation and every response is your body taking care of you and promoting life. So much healing can happen through touch – if the experience is truly respectful, safe, and with boundaries.
Thank you in advance for letting me bear witness to the health and beauty that is your body system <3
