This workshop is for EVERYONE of all genders because we ALL have a pelvic floor! We have had the privilege of hosting chiropractors, massage educators, dance department heads, manual massage therapists, osteopaths, yoga and Pilates instructors, and the average mom, sister, girlfriend, and grandma who just wants to know more and physically get “better.” Everyone can take something from this workshop no matter their anatomical knowledge level.

The workshop is designed to allow people to have an experience instead of being preached to and told what box they should fit into. We do a lot of proprioceptive work in the workshop to wake people’s brains up to parts of the body it maybe has forgotten about or disconnected from. Please don’t let any of that intimidate you. The ultimate goal is to truly help people understand that the small things in their practice really do matter. Such as but limited to: breath, posture, pace, movement qualities etc. It’s not about working hard it’s about working smarter, not harder and understanding how to work with your body.

As a facilitator, we strive to create a safe space for a group of people to discuss their pelvic floor dysfunctions. This can really help to destigmatize what A LOT of people are ashamed to talk about and always seems to be a hushed conversation. In our conversation, together we get to create community, comradery and let our guards down so that we can improve our community support while gaining the knowledge to improve our health. Your level of participation is up to you. NO PRESSURE to share anything!

You’ll learn some self-assessment tools so you know if the work is working OR if you aren’t sure if you have a pelvic floor dysfunction then these self-assessment tools will give you some answers.

There isn’t any one particular method used or discussed in the workshop. It is however applicable to all methods of yoga, Pilates, weight training, weekend warriors, walkers, dancers etc. We break down some common exercises such as down dog and how if you are dealing with a pelvic floor dysfunction you might want to consider X,Y,Z. We have a sequence of movements we go through, so you can have that important felt experience and then later in the workshop we break down a number of the more complicated exercises, so you leave feeling confident in what you learned.

If you’ve never heard of a pelvic floor but want to know more, this workshop is for you.
If you know you have a “problem” and don’t know where to start, this workshop is for you.
If you’re a massage therapist, movement specialist, personal trainer, or bodyworker, this workshop is for you. To share with your clients a more in-depth understanding of the pelvic floor through your own experience. Come one come all this is common ground.
